THINK TWICE, AT LIST ONCE....

The unbridled firecracker in full fury races towards the dark sky,
Emanating a riot of colors, dazzling brilliance displaying its might.
The flamboyance of hues, the abstract patterns, and the noise intensify.
Pleasure, excitement, and sheer delight in me it incites!
I soak in the temporal magic of it for some time,
Later everywhere resides acrid odour, thick smoke dirt, and grime.
When the smoke goes down, appears a pale face of a child.
“You have a committed a crime”, said he and faintly smiled
His hands were black. blistered, bruised, and scalded
He had made firecrackers for me, his childhood permanently halted
Baffled and confused I stood like a stone.
It was time for me to atone……
