Yesterday I got up early with an ache in my tummy,
Was it because I snatched a big chicken leg to eat from my mommy?
That day I wanted to skip the morning walk – our family ritual,
Then, I decided to go to avoid my sister’s chatter, which is perpetual

Refused my lip-smacking eggs dashed with cheese and ham,
Oh! I didn’t care to welcome our neighbour kind Uncle Sam!
Suddenly there came out all the vomit in one go!
Scared and unhappy I hid my face in my pillow.

‘’It’s a medical emergency!’’ came the sounds in unison.
I grew sullener; car ride was certainly no fun!
In the clinic, although the wait was not too long.
Sadly, no beautiful girl with her parents had come along.

I was put on the examination table by my doctor
He asked questions about me from my sister
Looking at my crouching posture, the doctor found my ailments
Wagging, whining, whimpering, and barking are my statements
I can’t speak the language humans do,

But we too, have heart and head just like you!
He popped two pills in my mouth with utmost ease,
In an hour’s time, I was at play enjoying the cool breeze!
OH ! How much I thank you, my angel vet!
