Thank you God for giving us the rain,
I want the rain to come again and again.
It quenches the thirst of all land,
It gets a welcome so grand.

The plants welcome rain,
To make them green again.
The desert longs for the rain,
To relieve it off the draught pain.
The rivers patiently wait for the rain,
To make them happy and full again.

Animals and birds too eagerly await the rain,
They dance in joy at the arrival of rain.
But alas! It is we humans who do not welcome the rain,
We have cut so many forests for our selfish gain .

Will the rain ever come again ?
If trees and plants we slain.
Let us say sorry to God today !
And with a smile welcome rain every day.
